Wilderness First Aid is the industry standard in Wilderness Medicine, ideal for anyone who ventures out to the woods, or working professionally as an outdoor leader or responsible for the care of groups in the backcountry. This course is a 48-hour 2-day event combining classroom learning, hands-on skills training, and practical scenarios.
What is Taught:
EMT-Level Response and Assessment
Musculoskeletal Injuries, Bandaging & Splinting
Environmental Emergencies (Lightning, Drowning, etc.)
4 Season Survival Skills
Soft Tissue Injuries, Bleeding Control & Infection
Medical Emergencies (Diabetic Emergencies, Shock, etc.)
Accommodations & Food Planning:
Dispersed camping near Echo Lake in Idaho Springs, please bring your own camping gear. No meals are provided, please bring your own food, water and necessities. Restrooms and Showers are on the property.
$175 per participant. Participants must be paid ACA members and 13 years or older with adult supervision.
Do I get certified?:
Yes. Your Wilderness First Aid certification is good for 2 years.
