  • Embark on a full-day outdoor education clinic designed to equip participants with essential hiking and mountaineering skills. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Front Range 14ers, this clinic offers a unique opportunity to prepare for summiting a Colorado 14er.
  • Program Highlights:
  • Location: Mount Pisgah, Colorado (Elevation: 10,081 ft)
  • Distance & Elevation Gain: 1-mile hike with 564 feet of elevation gain
  • Summit Features: Summit marker, signature register, and flagpole

Clinic Focus Areas:

  • Introduction to Mount Pisgah: Explore the geographical features, elevation, and historical significance of the mountain.
  • Weather & Conditions: Understand the climate, seasonal variations, and potential hazards on Mount Pisgah.
  • Trip Planning: Set goals, determine fitness levels, and assess experience for a successful climb.
  • Gear Preparation: Identify essential mountaineering equipment, clothing, and safety gear required for the ascent.
  • Scrambling & Climbing: Develop techniques for negotiating rocky sections, using hands and feet for balance and stability.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential hazards, assess terrain conditions, and make informed decisions.
  • Acclimatization: Understand altitude sickness, symptoms, and strategies for acclimatizing to high elevations.
